Gravelle gets local association nod

I was happy to read today that the Thunder Bay Superior North Liberals have endorsed Michael Gravelle as their candidate for the 2011 Provincial Election. I like what this man has done so far for pushing for needed infrastructure.

Michael Gravelle says," we have made significant progress on a number of fronts.... to the exciting developments in mining which must be managed carefully for our future.”

Thunder Bay Superior North Liberals Excited with Gravelle

THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Superior North Liberals have endorsed Michael Gravelle as their candidate for the 2011 Provincial Election. Cheered on by over 100 supporters, Gravelle was nominated tonight as the provincial Liberal candidate for the riding of Thunder Bay-Superior North. It is the fifth-consecutive nomination for the current Member of Provincial Parliament, and Minister of Northern Development, Mines and Forestry who has represented the riding since 1995.
Gravelle was acclaimed at a meeting held at the Italian Cultural Centre in Thunder Bay.

“I accept this nomination with the commitment I have always given — to give one hundred percent to the job. I have every intention of contesting the upcoming election with the same energy and passion, the same commitment to seeing progress and opportunity come to this riding, and with the same dedication to social justice as I have in the past,” stated Gravelle in his acceptance speech.

“I am extremely proud of the work I’ve done over the past 15 years in office to see our riding and all of Northern Ontario benefit. We have not yet achieved all our goals and are still recovering from the economic challenges that have beset us these past few years, but we have made significant progress on a number of fronts, from the four-laning of Highway 11-17 to vast improvements in health care and education, to the exciting developments in mining which must be managed carefully for our future.”
